The Bingham’s are from South West Victoria and are passionate about farming. Dan and Jill and their five daughters, Sophie, Lily, Ruby, Tess and Bella; are all actively involved in farm life and the business.
Sophie is currently studying Farm Business Management at Marcus Oldham College in Geelong.
Equipment & technology
The Bingham’s have continued to invest in new equipment and machinery due to the demonstrated benefits that can be achieved through economies of scale and efficient cost of production.
Examples of this investment include large-scale harvesters that use less fuel per hectare, reduce soil compaction across a paddock and save maintenance and operating costs on a per hectare or per tonne basis. Similarly, the use of GPS guided self propelled sprayers reduces crop overspray and reduces crop knockdown, each of these reduce costs and increase yield compared to conventional machinery.
Current innovations and technology that we are evaluating and researching include: seeding efficiency and sectional control technology, improving rotational gross margins through use of break crops, organic soil amendments, fodder production, and optimizing management through mobile farm management software.
